David,
For the price this is a very good Texas whiskey. Picked it up on my travels through Arkansas and was not disappointed. Rich caramel color with bold flavor.
Jeffrey,
Strong bold flavors. Very enjoyable.
Joey,
One note sweet
Bob,
This is a very good though not great bourbon in my opinion. However, I will try other varieties from this company in the future. For the price, it's a decent offering.
Scott,
This is the second bottle I’ve had from Balcones and I’ve loved them both. It definitely lets you know the corn is there.
Gabe,
Native Texan here in the Land of Entrapment (NM) just sipping first glass neat and love the big time heat. Very complex and robust.
Ira,
An affordable delight. Far more sippable than whiskeys I've paid 2x as much for. Long corn and molasses flavor and finish.
Dave,
Little too much burn on the end for my liking
Robert,
Wonderfully inviting nose. Sweet with a slight smoke. Taste is excellent. Corn and caramel come through first with a touch of smokiness and finishes a bit spicy. Balcones is changing the bourbon game.
Nathan,
Real smooth. Great value too.
James,
Balcones' unique take on a bourbon. If you're looking for traditional bourbon flavors, you won't really find them here. But is rich and flavorful.
Benjamin,
Interesting flavor, heavy on the corn, a bit oily on the palate. Not my favorite but not bad either.
Johnathan,
Unique bourbon. Savory/meaty flavor.
Todd,
I really enjoyed this one. It has a great floral nose and a kick in the front, but it smooths out and finishes a little sweet. I will buy again.
MIKE,
Lots of flavor, in fact too many flavors that don't fit perfectly together for me. If you like something bold and different, try this one.
Rusty,
Not as smoky as I hoped. Hot at first but nice finish.
STEVE,
Delicious, Balcones' Texas take on bourbon flavor punches through the alcohol, best value of Balcones whiskey offerings.
Paul,
Wasn't a fan of this one
Frank,
Spicy, very unique flavor.
Rusty,
Not delicious, has a distinct metallic aftertaste.
Jonathon,
This has quickly become my families favorite bourbon. Smooth but full flavor. Loved it so much, i bought a bottle for my father father's day, so essentially I put my reputation on it.
Chris,
Really good, although it took awhile to adapt to the unique flavor. I consistently get a flavor on the front palette of green grapes. Funky and delicious

David,
A little too smoky and not a great finish
David,
Between this and Balcones Baby Blue, get this. While it has a unique taste, it is way easier to come back to after that first sip than Baby Blue, and almost $10 cheaper.
Isak,
Starts off with a nice sweet corn note that turns into a Texas HOT spicy pepper. Finishes smooth & spicy. Very interesting, definitely stands out from other bourbons with its unique flavor profile. All in all, this is a damn good bourbon, and at $30 a pop, it’s an absolute steal.
Alex,
Spicy, smoky, corn with a long sweet finish.
Robert,
Smooth, smoked and charred notes with sweet caramel, cinnamon and a bit of heat on the finish.
guest,
If you’ve ever eaten a vanilla flavored coffee bean you will know what I mean when I say, “there is coffee in there no matter what the spiral says.” One of my favorite bourbons to sip, neat or rocks.
Ara,
Sweet smoky corn with a long sweet finish.
Bryan,
Big bold flavors! Love it!
Elizabeth,
This really has a peppery bite to it. It's not bad, just unexpected that it would be the most forward thing in the flavor profile.
Charlie,
Bas
Charlie,
Got a bad taste dent like at all m.
Jeff,
This is a wonderful whiskey with deep flavors. I was really impressed with the taste and quality considering it's price. I tried another Balcones in a tasting kit and this one was not as intense or deep but was still very satisfying
Aaron,
This had a great flavor, but was too hot on the palate for my liking. I prefer a more subtle heat, but this was right up in your face. If you're a fan of that, then this bourbon is for you....just not for me.
Adam,
At this price level I don't know why it's not everyone's well brand.
Exceptionally smooth and very sweet. I wouldn't say that this is a complex bourbon, but it's definitely a must have in my cabinet for cocktails and the occasional neat pour.
Don,
Not my taste....
guest,
Very smooth. The nose is not harsh at all. The flavor is smooth up front with a bit of spice at the end. Not quite as good as Garrison Brothers but it’s less than half the price. This will be a regular at my house.
Vincent,
Corn is heavy on the nose and the mouthfeel; tastes like a young Bourbon. Not my favorite; will get used in cocktails.
Mike,
Wonderful aroma, extremely smooth- my wife's uncle and I tried it together and he was as impressed as I was.
Katie,
The corn taste was too strong for my taste. It tastes like it’s trying to be sweet, but comes up short. The flavor is just not for me.
bill,
This is freaking dangerous stuff. An oaky taste but smooth finish. You are drinking along and probably more than you should because it is so smooth. Seriously, everybody who tried it, said it was one of the more smooth whiskey's they've had. highly recommend it.
Eric,
heavy char and burnt nickels. this is only my second texas bourbon, but i'm starting to think that it's just not my thing.
guest,
Amazing bourbon. Mouthfeel is like that of a rich highland scotch. Robust aroma of caramel and corn and oak. Stewed stonefruit in the palate... apricot, cherry, honey, brown sugar. Rich leathery oak. Finish is all cacao nibs, a little coconut, and some sea salt.
Christopher,
Strong taste, not to my liking
Gary,
Chocolate covered cherries on the nose. Great, single barrel chew, almost frontier style. Long, great finish of tobacco and leather. A very underestimated bourbon. Dive in!
Jonathan,
Really solid value Bourbon for the price. Some rounded cherry and chocolate notes. A perfect boulevardier cocktail base!
Kevin,
So sweet, I get hard candy and smooth. Well rounded. Priced very nice and this could be a go to daily for me, one of my favored bourbons I have tried so far for the price.
Gary,
Cherry and chocolate on the nose. Quick burn, spice going down. Wonderful finish. Grape skins and more tart cherries on the back side.
John,
Great taste for the price. It is as good as a 60 dollar bottle
Troy,
Light and easy drinking but too much honey for me.
