Balblair is situated just to the north of Glenmorangie, near the village of Edderton in Ross-shire. It is one of the oldest distilleries still in existence, dating back to 1790, and there are records of distilleries on the site as far back as 1749.
Long known to blenders as a category 'A' malt, Balblair is a terrific malt Whisky worthy of far greater exposure than it has previously enjoyed. Relaunched in 2007 as a series of vintage expressions, and repositioned as a premium product, this previously unsung hero is now finally getting the attention and respect it deserves.
House style: Medium-bodied and sweet with an occasional nuttiness. A pleasing malty Highland.
