Top reviews for Appleton Estate Rare Blend 12 Year Old Rum:

— First tine I had this was at a Sandals in Ocho Rios, Jamaica. I brought back 6 bottle and I do so every time I go to Jamaica. This is THE rum. It’s outstanding. I prefer to mix it with a splash of pineapple juice, but it’s just as good on the rocks. Bigger flavor profile than other rum I’ve ever had.

— I'm not all that interested in rums. Unless it's Appleton Estate and then I'm all over it.

— Deep and rich with a notably beautiful aroma. Sometimes I just grab the bottle for a pleasant whiff. If I could change anything, it would be a tiny bit softer.

Angel,
off the bat I smelled caramel and ripe banana with no smell of alcohol. Pleasant to drink taste caramel and not alcohol. Really good to sit down relax and sip while at the beach

Smooth

Judah
Judah,
Smelled like rubber and was very harsh. I was hoping for better. Would only use this as a mixer.

Daphne
Daphne,
Warm and sweet like toasted marshmallows. Really fantastic as either a sipper or a mixer. Jamaican lemonade with lemonade, ginger ale and this is a perfect summer, beach cocktail.

Matthew
Matthew,
Takes an otherwise ordinary rum (normal Appleton Estate) and adds a depth of oak and subtlety... But still a little bland

Matthew
Matthew,
About as good as Rum gets. Strong notes of oak make the rum almost have a whiskey like finish

Antti
Antti,
It is a very good, rich, aged rum with a rich birth; while a a thick & creamy life; that leads to a long & dry death with notes of oak, orange & nutmeg.

Dustin
Dustin,
Go to rum for sipping

Michael
Michael,
I struggled with this when I first tasted it. Not great neat. Not great with a splash of water. But, when I poured some over a large ice cube and let it chill, damn, that's good. There's a lot going on here. Banana on the nose with a sweet and spicy mouthfeel. There's a lot of flavor. I think I'm gonna enjoy this bottle.
Michael
Michael,
Even better in a Rum Old-Fashioned with a teaspoon of Demerara syrup, orange bitters and an orange peel. Enjoy!!
Kristopher

Donielle,
Had the pleasure of taking the tour in Jamaica. Like our guide said, the bottle has curves and is sexy, so it doesn't need any Pepsi. Definitely a sipping rum!

Derrel
Derrel,
Like it. Not much of a rum drinker but keep it for friends who drink rum.
