So you've got friends. Great. One down, a few to go.
A TASTING PACK
1 Flaviar tasting pack for 3 people
At least 3 spirits tasting glasses; preferably 15 (yes, that’s 5 for each person!). Pitcher and 3 glasses for water
Snacks and some food 4 pairing according to the tasting theme
Uh, finally……. I thought it'd never come to this.
There are many ways to taste and enjoy spirits, but in the end it is all up to you.
Although you don’t need to follow any instructions; we provided our Step-by-Step (Ooh baby) contribution to the fine Art of Tasting.
WE CAN HAVE LOTS OF FUN
One way to start is by concealing the brand names, setting up 5 glasses and tasting them sequentially – sometimes it’s fun to taste with someone else (you decide if you want to share the same glass or not).
Arrange these 5 samples from best to worse, or better, from those you liked best to those you liked less. When you get down to it it’s as simple as that: do I like the taste of it and would I want to drink it again?
THERE'S SO MUCH WE CAN DO
Try to find and name some flavors you smell and taste. Discuss it with your friends, be as honest and descriptive as you can be – you can write down some notes if you want.
Now reveal the brands. Mix up glasses once more and try to pair them with the brands again.
IT'S JUST... NOT FUNNY ANYMORE, BUT IT ENDS WITH HIGH PITCHED "MEEE"
Experts call it food pairing, but we call it, erm, food pairing.
Put some cheese, crackers, chocolate, etc., (depends on the drinks you are tasting) on the table to both cleanse the palate and to find out what matches best with the samples you’re enjoying. Try to match a drink with your favourite food. It should be fun.
Tasting is Believing!
