Top reviews for Angostura 1919 Rum (8 Year Old):

— Acquired a taste for this "lovely" rum while working for a year in Trinidad, where is is distilled. Many prefer the darker 1824, which is good, but for sipping on ice with a fresh lime nothing tops 1919 in my book! Hints of vanilla and caramel, smooth and a good mixer, but you will want it all own it's own!

— The caramel sweetness hits the nose like a freight-train, The caramel rolls over the tongue with a slight taste of oak, A full feel of the liquid towards an almost syrupy or buttery texture, the sweet caramel rounds of very nice and leaves me wanting another zip,

— My favorite rum. Not delicious and not too expensive. You definitely taste the vanilla, caramel, and oak notes. It is on the sweeter side. Rum old fashioned-s are my favorite drink and Angostura 1919 is a great choice for it.

Smooth and somewhat sweet rum....great for summer drinks and the dark and stormys...

Brian
Brian,
A generic gold rum. Nothing to hate, but nothing to love. Uninspiring in a daquiri, fine if you want to mix it with Coke, I wouldn't recommend drinking it neat.

Not a sipping rum but an excellent rum for mixing. Has a distinctive vanilla and oak tones. Not my favorite go to rum.
