A delicate Speyside delicacy.

Alexander Murray is an independent bottling operation founded by Steve Lipp in 2004. The company is named after his great uncle who inspired Steve’s love of Malt Whisky, introducing him to the Spirit many years ago ― and also possessing a name with a much more Scottish ring to it. And although Alexander Murray operates out of California these days, they focus on Scottish Single Malts with an honest passion of seeking out the rare casks that make up their signature blends and special edition releases.

The Glen Moray Distillery came to be in 1897 when an old brewery in Elgin was converted into a distillery. They are known for highlighting the fruitier and light side of Speyside Single Malts and maturing the Spirit in wine, sherry, port, and even cider casks. This one has spent a cool dozen years in ex-Bourbon oak casks and was bottled at cask strength for a full 113.4 proof. It's a creamy, fragrant, and delicate expression. And since the distillery is changing its setup, it's bound to get rarer and rarer. Best stock up!
