Very easy drinking. I heard that Akashi used to primarily be a sake maker. On that note, I can definitely taste the resemblance of bright rice notes in this whisky. Not complex at all however and doesn't have lasting strength. Just an easy drinker.
Not my favorite whisky. I was expecting something smoky or peaty, but this has a very strong alcohol odor and finish.
It is an outstanding, delicate, Japanese blended whisky with a sweet & creamy death of medium length.
For the price a very good whisky, in my opinion, soft, smooth, easy to drink !
Certainly a great pairing with dessert. Not bad at all. Nice sweetness without being overbearing.
Akashi blended whisky is tough to drink neat. I don't like to give poor reviews, but it's just not very good. The nose is decent, reminiscent of Johnnie Walker Black 12. Sweet and a little smoky. The palate and finish fall short though. The sweetness on the nose gives way to a note of cleaning supplies on the palate. Akashi has been relegated to being a mixer in my house, which means it's just sitting in my whisky cabinet not being consumed.
Appearance: Obviously coloured Nose: A hint of Vanilla? Palate: Obvious burning feeling. Poor Finish: Burning felling vanished Overall: Nth special in aroma and taste; the burning feeling dominated.
Not too interesting on the nose but a sweet, easy-drinking whisky.
Not anything special, overly spicy over the honey and sweet notes. Very dull baking spice aroma. Not much floral even though there is a Sherry finish and believed to be 3yo in ex bourbon casks. Pass.
Smooth, light, sweety Japanese Whisky.
